Nipple Reconstruction Before & After Case 59

This is a 47 year old female who had ductal carcinoma in situ of both of her breasts diagnosed at the same time. She decided to have both breasts and nipples removed with a bilateral mastectomy procedure. She had small breasts (32A cup) and she wanted to end up larger after her reconstruction.

 

The patient underwent Breast Reconstruction of both of her breasts at the time of her mastectomy. Expanders were placed on both sides and filled up most of the way during her initial surgery. Additional fluid was added to the expanders in the office three times over the following six weeks. Then the expanders were removed and replaced with Allergan Natrelle smooth round high profile silicone implants with a volume of 475ml. Nipple reconstruction was performed at the same time using a modified skate flap technique and areola grafts were obtained from her existing suprapubic scar.

 

The patient was thrilled with her natural feeling and appearing result after her Los Angeles Breast Reconstruction. She was also happy to have breasts that better fit her body.
